Bazi Daily - 10/11/2009

一个八字,如果生在大热,或大寒的月令时,先不要管日元的强弱问题,而要先考虑调候的条件。

Literal translation:-

In the evaluation of any bazi chart, the ideal chart is where : -

- the DM is neither too strong, nor too weak ; and
- the chart is neither too cold, nor too hot.

It is, however, beyond our control to have such an ideal chart.

In the event of a chart that is too weak and, at the same time, too cold, we have to first address the issue of problematic climate before resolving the 'strength' (i.e. too weak) issue.

Master Goh, Can you elaborate on the reason behind the need to tackle problematic climate before the strength issue?

Thank you and best regards, My

If the chart is too hot (or too cold), it would affect survivability of the other elements.

Hi Master Goh,

How about for months of 辰 and 戌? Are they classified as hot or cold months?

Thank you

Nelson

Nelson,

We don't normally classify earth months as being cold or hot. We differentiate it by either Dry or Wet earth, as follow :-

- Xu (戌) & Wei (未) earth are traditionally considered as Dry Earth (燥土); and

- Chen (辰) & Chou (丑) earth are traditionally considered as Wet Earth (湿土).

If, really, we were to view it from the degree of coldness, then I would say that Chou is cold, while wei & xu is hot.

Chen, on the other hand, is neutral.
