The Misconceptions of Strong Parallel & Competitor Deities Fighting for Wealth (比劫夺财)
We all aware Wealth Deity (both Conventional & Unconventional Wealth 正财及偏财) represents father, girl friend & wife (applicable to male chart).
We also notice that Wealth Star dislike the presence of overly strong Parallel & Competitor Deities as the energy of both the Wealth stars can be severely diminished by it. Hence, in the olden days, kids (especially female) with such a chart would be 'given away', so as to avoid the bad luck that the kid(s) could bring to the family.
Is it so ?
Personally, I do not think so!
In actual fact, from this we can make the deductions on the DM’s character as :
1． intrinsically stubborn, unreasonable and obdurate
2． individualistic and reckless
3． poor financial management and quick dissipation of accumulated wealth
On the other hand, the harmful effect of Strong Self would reduce if there is a presence of Implicit &/or Explicit Talents Deities in the bazi chart. Both the output stars helps to act as a buffer & prevent the direct clashes between the wealth star and the parallel / competitors deities. The DM would, then, be deemed as articulatory & talented.
This is the beauty of Chinese Metaphysics - the study of nothing but changes.....

1. When the Parallels are strong in the chart and Resources are also just as strong or stronger, effect of the strong self get magnified as Resources produce more of the self element?
2. Does Direct Resource or Indirect Resource pinpoint more specific characteristics?

For sure, with the input from Resources Deities, the effect of the strong self get magnified.
If it is an favorable input, the DM is a thinker & will think twice before reaching a conclusion.
However, when it is an unfavorable input, the DM could be stubborn & self-centered.

Does this mean the Explicit Talent should be used as the Useful Star in this type of chart? Or better to use Guan to control?

Theoretically, both the Talent & Authority Deities can be used in this type of chart.
But, personally, I prefer to weaken it by enabling the person to perform (i.e. using Talent Deity) than to control or restrict him/her.
