Ren Water (壬水)

Water travels in a downward direction, from high to low, and never reverses its flow.   What can we infer from this natural state of water ?

Any Ren water person out there to provide us with better insight ?

Bazi Daily - 30/08/2010

Water is the last element that we are exploring.   Let's look at the Ren Water first.

Ren refers to Yang Water and is associated with the waters of the rivers.

Like rivers and oceans, Ren Water are infinitely travelling.   How can we associate it with the personality of the DM as Ren?

Xin Metal (辛金)

Today, we shall explorer the characteristic of the Xin Metal in greater details.

Xin refers to Yin Metal and is associated with precious metals, such as gold.    It symbolises metals that have been transformed, for instance, jewellery.

Based on the above analysis, we can conclude that he/she is full of elegance and charm that draws everyone’s attention.  He/she is gentle and refined.

However, .....

You may want to fill in the blank on the negative aspect of Xin DM.

Geng Metal

First of all, would like to thanks Lilian & Lugrey for their contributions :)

Do agree with Lilian that raw metal needs to be forged in order to become sharp and useful sword/axe.  Hence, she thought that Geng Metal people is tough, but through hardship/endurance they emerge as solid character with sense of responsibility.

Personally, I like below description made by Lilian as well : -

A sword never stops mid point when they are meant to cut, they cut. So Geng people will chop their ways through their goals to get what they want.   Their attitude is "do-or-die".   (NOTE :  This is especially so when the Geng is strong)

I do agree with Lugrey that Geng person is not so much about giving into emotions (feeling bad/ pity).

To me, Sword (ie Geng Metal) is a symbol of toughness and hardiness.

On the positive notes, we can conclude that he/she is direct, determined and never admits defeat. They do not believe in wasting time on worries and will rather take action. They charge ahead without hesitation.

What are the probable shortcoming you can think of?

Ji Earth

Yes, on the one hand, such individuals are very adaptable and will adjust well to any situation.   However, he/she can be conservative and has no standpoint of his own.  Therefore can be effortlessly manipulated or persuaded.

We shall proceed with the Geng Metal (Yang Metal) on the following postings.

Ji Earth

If we were to think further and deep, rich soil (ie earth) is soft in texture and has the capability to expand or compress. We can fashion this material into any kind of shape.   What can you associate it with both the positive & negative traist of the individual?

Ji Earth

To me, I would deem that Ji Earth Person is honest and caring, just like mother taking good care of kids.  However,  he/she tends to worry over children and can be fiercely possessive at times.

Also, he/she (the Ji DM) is serious and kind, but WITHIN is a tempest.

Ji Earth

The fertile soil absorbs sufficient water and contains plenty of minerals that are ideal for farming.  At the same time, like Mother Earth, Ji Earth has the strongest maternal instinct.

Based on the above understanding, what can we infer about the characters of the person with Ji Earth as DM?

Bazi Daily - 20/08/2010

Glad to have received input from all of you :)

Ji (己) refers to Yin Earth & is associated with the soil of farms.    Fully agreed with what Wei Kee had mentioned : When soft earth is wet it expands, when it's dry it compresses. It can be shaped, i.e. sandcastles, mud pies; therefore, they can adapt to situations.

Also, do agree with Wei Kee that, at times, outsiders can't see what is inside the earth (i.e. the Ji Earth DM).

Kikuchiyo mentioned that Ji earth people usually are talented.  Yes, it is true that they learn things quickly. Don't forget that Earth connotes contemplation. However, we can also associate the soil of farm to signify the fact that the individual have the tendency of being thinking to much.

By the way, would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to the concerns sent by the readers by not seeing my presence in the net :)     I am perfectly fine.  BUT, somehow or rather, very busy recently :)

The Chinese Name Analysis book is on the way....

Wu Earth

Earth commands ‘trust’ of the Five Virtues

Hence, when trust is affirmed to something, his perception or belief will not be swayed. He may look stubborn as a consequence but it is also this quality that makes him a trustworthy individual.

Wu Earth

The Earth and boulders do not transform overnight. Instead they are formed and shaped over a long period of time.

With the aforesaid understanding in mind, we can deduce that no matter what the activity is, its groundwork will be meticulously laid out before any other development can proceed.

Als, due to the abovementioned characteristic, such individuals will miss golden opportunities at times. Even then, they have no regrets, as they are more concerned with the current task on hand.

Wu Earth

I mentioned that Earth hides many resources in its belly.  He can, therefore, be unselective and complicated.

Also, Earth rules ‘contemplation’ of the Five Emotions. As a result, those whose Earth element is overwhelming tend to think a lot.

Wu Earth

Wu (戊) refers to Yang Earth and is associated with rocks and boulders.

Earth hides many resources in its belly, thence indicating magnanimity.   Hence, if the energy of earth is at its equilbrium stage, he/she is friendly and sentimental.   Also, readily assists others or becomes their confidante.

Ding fire

Ding fire similar to the flame of a candle. The candle burns itself out to bring warmth to its surroundings.  Hence, we can conclude that he/she is prepared to help others at own expense.

However, before the flame is ignited, the core characteristics of Ding Fire remain dormant.  Therefore, can be mistaken as two-faced.

Is there anymore that you can think of  ?    Your views are welcomed.

Ding Fire

We knew that Ding Fire emits less heat than Bing Fire, but it can shine anytime when the occasion calls for light and warmth.

We have discussed that he / she can be very affectionate and ready to make sacrifices for those who are close.

However, on the negative aspect, others may take advantage of this individual’s empathetic nature.

Other aspect of Ding fire include :-

Although Ding Fire emits less heat than Bing Fire, it can shine anytime when the occasion calls for light and warmth.

Hence, on the positive aspect, he or she is very affectionate and ready to make sacrifices for those who are close.

What negative aspect can you assoicate it with ?
