Xin Metal people will perhaps give the impression of a superiority complex - like they are the best. Hence, this might lead to arrogance.
Due to its rave need for attention and persual of 'face', Xin DM may lie just to protect its image? (Does not have the deep integrity like Geng).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read that Xin DM are very skilful plotters/schemers - more so than the manipulative Yin Wood. After all, metal cuts wood!

Xin DM may be arrogance as you have mentioned. However, Xin DM is able to control its outer arrogance and appear to be very refined :)
