Bazi & The Theory of Personality
Personally, I deeply feel that the bazi is the study of human behaviours & personality. In which, destiny is deduced based upon our personality.
Pyschology has been one of my favorite subjects during the U-days & even up to now :) From today onwards, I plan to share with all of you on the Theroy of Personality & its association with characteristics of the respective 10 deities.
Believe it or not, change the perspective of viewing the bazi (temporarily), you would learn more :)
I am going to share with you The DISC Behavioral model. The model describes four basic patterns of Personality Types as follow :-
The 'D' Personality Types = Direct, Decisive, Drive
The 'I' Personality Types = Influence, Image, Enthusiasm
The 'S' Personality Types = Steady, Stable, Supportive
The 'C' Personality Types = Conscientious, Correct, Careful
Instead of viewing / classifying personality into 10 prominent types (i.e. The Theory of 10 Deities), this model group it into 4 main distinct categories. * Please take note that "None of which is better or worse than any of the others".
We shall examine it in greater details for the following days....
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
~ KALIDASA ~
Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And Tomorrow is only a Vision;
But Today well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!

Hi Master Goh,
Do you read the book Personality Plus, it talk about four temperaments
1 Sanguine
2 Choleric
3 Melancholic
4 Phlegmatic
Maybe it too are related to Bazi personality.
Rgds,
WeiKee
8Zee & WeiKee,
Thanks for recommending various different types theories :)
Though the Psychology, The Theory of Personality & the Bazi originated from different cultures, they pointed to the same direction - understanding complex human behaviours.
We are living in the modern society. Linking ancient bazi theory to contemporary social science is important and is necessary to better convince more people to the science and art of bazi :)
Master Goh..
I believe this personality - bazi thing will be a good idea for your next book!!!
My brief understanding with MBTI is that there are four continuums scale, I - E, N - S, F - T, P - J.
We have either qualities of each sides, just that due to learning, environment, culture and/or perhaps genetics makeup (bazi??).. we tend towards one side.
How people are energized
Extraversion----------Introversion
The kind of information we naturally pay attention to
Sensing----------Intuition
How we make decisions
Thinking---------Feeling
How we like to organize our world
Judging----------Perceiving
And as one of the writers wrote, we aim/might just end up in the middle of the 4 scales after years of experiencing life. i.e. having and 'mastering' the 8 qualities.
Just some bits of MBTI I read, do hope to see more discussion on this.
Cheers n Happy weekend!
The Ancient Greek Theory of the four humors used in Personality Plus is similar to the above DISC theory.
Directive = Choleric
Image = Sanguine
Stable = Phlegmatic
Conscientious = Melancholic
Master Goh
May you tell me what does MBTI stand for?
MBox2
MBox2,
MBTI does not belong to any branches or theory of bazi or chinese metaphysics :)
MBTI stands for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. MBTI assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions.
