伤官见官,为祸百端
Explicit Talent Meets Authority, Myriads of Calamity Arise

Explicit Talent Meets Authority, Myriads of Calamity Arise (伤官见官,为祸百端) is a famous term & is usually quoted when examining the marriage for a female.  It also, normally, connotes lawsuits and disputes.

Prerequisites for forming Explicit Talent Meets Authority:

a. Weak DM
b. Overwhelming and unfavourable Explicit Talent restrains Proper Authority’s repression of the DM.
c. Absence of Deities of Wealth
d. Absence of Deities of Resources to suppress Explicit Talent

Character Portrayal of Explicit Talent Meets Authority:

DMs who have Explicit Talent are intelligent, arrogant and portentous. They love haranguing and are slightly materialistic; those with Proper Authority are conformist, value moral discourse, empathetic and always seek to benefit others.

When Explicit Talent is overwhelming and restrains Proper Authority, the DM dislikes being restricted and disregards laws and regulations. He may even scorn laws and behave wilfully, inviting strife.

If the Proper Authority yearly luck cycle descends, this period is particularly susceptible to lawsuits and disputes, hence the saying “Explicit Talent Meets Authority,Myriads of Calamity Arise”.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

~ HELEN KELLER ~

Many people have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness.
It is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.

Master Goh,

I recently came across a real life case, and i'm wondering whether it is relevant to this article...

DM is a person whose personality is as follows:-

Strength:
-Able to socialize
-Good salesman
-Willing to help out when there is trouble

Weakness:
-Like to talk big
-Like to show off
-Try to be leader of the group
-Seemingly blind to other people's feelings.
-Gambler

His chart as follows:

x Geng ShangGuan JieCai
x ShangGuan QiSha JieCai

So I was thinking, for this person showing this type of characteristic, is it the influence of his ShangGuan or JieCai?

Does the "ShangGuan Jian Guan Wei Huo Bai Duan" concept work if the 'Guan' in question is QiSha?

More recently, had discovered that above DM had cheated another friend in a business project. Is this occurrence consistent with the chart?

Is above DM considered strong or weak?

And which of the Ten-Energies has the greatest influence in this chart?

Sorry for a long question:) Thanks!

Andy,

X 庚 癸 庚
X 子 巳 申

I would deem that Shang Guan is most influential in this chart for the following reasons :-

- Shen - Zi combo
- Gui in the HS amplify the impact
- Si-Shen combo

When Shang Guan meets Qi Sha, it does not amount to 伤官见官. Please note that both the Qi Sha & Shang Guan denote adventurous & risk taking. This, perhaps, explain why he dared to deceive his friend.

Pertaining to the strength of DM, I would view it as a moderately (slightly) weak DM.

Sorry Master Goh,

I shouldn't have presented the chart in unconventional manner and make it confusing... his chart is as follows:-

X 庚 癸 Xin
X 子 巳 You

JieCai is same element but opposite polarity rite?

But i guess even without the combos involving 'Shen', the ShangGuan is stronger than the JieCai due to proximity to DM?

Once again, sorry for present in unconventional manner... :(

Andy,

Sorry, erected the chart wrongly to Geng Shen :)

If this is the case, I would say that the DM is strong. Of course, the strong impact of Shang Guan can not be overlooked as well.
