建禄离祖,专禄伤妻
Jian Lu Disassociates from Ancestors, Zhuan Lu Weakens Wife”

We have learned various types of Lu from previous posting.  Today, we shall further investigate its usage.  The above verse described its applications.

Mantra 1    Jian Lu Disassociates from Ancestors (建禄离祖)

Explanation  :   Amiable Deity appears at the Month Branch

Inference :

- Will leave ancestors, parents or have poor relations with seniors
- Will leave hometown and settle down elsewhere

Mantra 2    Zhuan Lu Weakens Wife (专禄伤妻)

Explanation :   Amiable Deity appears at the Day Branch

Inference :

- Poor marital relations between DM and spouse
- If severe, wife may be harmed

The aforementioned scenarios seem disadvantageous to the DM.   But, is it true?

Master Goh,

When you mention appears in the xxx branch, you referring to the hidden Stem, or the Earth branch itself?
Maybe if is favor to DM,

Mantra 1 will be it get support from seniors, and relative.

Mantra 2, it get support from spouse.

Hi Master Goh,

for mantra 2 - 专禄伤妻

is it linked to 比劫-克-财 ?(male DM)

or could it be the DM might possibly be a little too egoistic (since the day pillar is all the same element), and thus might affect relationship with spouse? (both male/female DM)

same reasoning for mantra 1 - 建禄离祖?

Please advise!

WeiKee,

Lu is referring to the Main Energy of the Earthly Branch.

You are right to say that the DM will get necessary supports from the group of people you have mentioned.

The point that I would like to stress is that the content included in the classical text/verse are normally incomplete. Further investigatiion is needed. Hence, do not be afraid if your bazi fall into the verse mentioned here :)

8Zee,

You are absolutely right :)

Hi Master Goh,

hehe, than i get more confuse about main energy, some book talk about dominant Qi at certain day of the month, that making the hidden element be dominant for the period of time. Does this need to be take note if we where to investigation on the specific bazi.?

WeiKee,

I do not take that into consideration during my reading of bazi.

BTW, there are few versions as to the numbers of days certain element is taking charge. So, disputes and argument again :(

My view of Chinese Metaphysics is don't complicate our thinking, make it simple. If not, our ancestors wouldn't named The Book of Changes (Yi Jing) as 易经 (literally translated as a 'simple book').

Conducted a course recently, felt that participants got caught up with too much of technicality. So much so that they lost confident in reading the bazi.

Just focus on following :-

- characteristics of 5 elements;
- characteristics of 10 deities; &
- identify the prominent features of the chart.

Hi Master Goh,

Does Mantra 2 apply for both strong and weak DM? Can a weak DM with zhuan lu have big ego as mentioned by 8zee?

About reading bazi, do we need to consider the 4 seasons as well? It is a simple concept.

Tee

Hi Tee,

I believe it is more of just having a higher tendency that the person with 比肩 @ his day branch aka 专禄, will exhibit those 'ego/self-centeredness', regardless of whether it is a strong/weak DM.

That's my understanding so far. Please do share your view also. Thanks!
