A bazi chart with strong Unconventional Wealth deity (like you) can consider the trades you have mentioned.
However, given that there is also presence of Proper Authority Deity (denoting law obliging), under employment would be a better choice. This is especially so where the coming year is the year Tiger (Yin Wood).
寅-午-戌 would combine and form an extremely strong fire and resulted in '财多身弱' (i.e. too strong a wealth deity may be harmful to our health).

For a chart where metal is not favorable but there is an abundance of it, would it be possible for the person to lean towards a metal occupation.
If the chart next LP are the wood frame and wood is favorable, could the person do well in a metal career as there is wood to help balance the chart or metal is no longer so strong, a wood career can be pursued?
Assuming, DM is Ren, Metal (Geng) is resource and Wood (Jia) is Talent.
I'm curious about the Geng - Jia interaction more than Xin and Yi.
Also, how may one see a career change in the chart? Do we look for a combo, as I imagine a clash may indicate job lost.

Yes, it is highly possible as the energy of metal is so strong that he/she has been attracted to it unnoticing.

Theoretically, he/she can perform well in both industries on the assumption that the both energy are equally strong.
However, to be more practical, we have to advice the person to go for the trade & profession that he/she is familiar with. NOT merely based on the favorability of the element. To me, it is inadequate and should not be encouraged.

It took me quite sometimes to figure out the chart :(
Appreicate if you could use either chinese characters or hanyupinyin in future.
This is an extremely hot & strong chart. The DM can be very firm & determined in getting what he wants.
However, it could also be possible that others may view him as stubborn (or perhaps, sometimes, being unreasonable) & impatient.
This is the person that can't stand those jobs that is repetitive by nature. Try to get a job that enable him to act freely, without much restriction.
Given that metal & water is what is needed by the bazi, we could expect a brighter future.

Besides using Earth as a tool, I deem that Metal & Water would be a better option. This is a hot chart, we need to attend to its 'hot-ness' first.
As for the suitable profession, we tend to approach it from the view point of favorability of the element.
A more practical approach is to consider or to ask himself does he has adequate knowledge, experiences, resources & networking?
