Literal Translation & Interpretation :-
Generally speaking, Resource Deities represents parents. In the event, there is no presence of Resource Deities in the natal chart, below possible deductions could be made and is hold true :-
- the love given by the parents to the DM is limited ;
- there is a generation gap ;
- the DM is being taken care by the grandparents or baby sitter, etc.

If there is no presence of Resource Deity in either the Heavenly Stem or as the Main Energy (主气) of Earthly Branch, the impact of Resource Deity deep inside the HHS (藏干) is neglectable.
As for the appearances of the Resource Deity in the LP, it symbolizes that the relationship would be closer during this 10 years period :)

To be very frank, I have no idea :(
This is the question normally posed to me during the class. But, I have to confess that I don't know.
Have tried to do some research, but no avail :(
They are so many authors, masters & practitioners mentioned about it (i.e. clashing out of the pot), BUT nobody is able to provide a concrete explanation.
Besides Wood, how about the water, metal & fire within the Wei & Chou Earth?
Do keep me inform if you have any ideas or know where to look for the possible explanation.

Dear Master Goh,
I'm really curious about this as my nephew has such a chart.
He is really a good boy since young. Btw he is 17 yrs old now.He is very close to his mum and we can see her excellent influence in him.
He has no Resource Diety at all.
He has Wei[-Wood pot] which is being clashed by his 10 year of Ji Chou at present.
After this LP he will be in Geng Yin.
I think he will be close to her always.
Is my resoning logical?

The appearance of Resource Deity in the natal chart is only one of the aspects in examining the relationship between the DM & his/her mother.
Other factors include :-
- the Resource Deity is favorable to DM. Even in the absence of Resource Deity, the DM can still be close to the mother.
- there is a combining relationship between the DM & the Month Stem, representing parent palace.

1. Existance in the chart
2. Favorable or Unfavorable
How can we determine with it is physical vs emotional?
Location, how far from the DM?
What element represents Resoures?

Agree with you on the 2 ways of measurement.
Resource Deities are more introverted & Talent Deities are more extroverted.
Hence, if we were to examine whether it is physical or emotional, the above provide a good guide :)

Talent = More physical
