When there is a Clash to an unfavorable element is a good thing and vice versa. However what about the when there is a Clash of a favorable element with the same element?
Ex.
The Earth clashes Xu-Chen and Chou-Wei always confuses me.

May I know where are you from?
As for your queries on the impact of clashes between the same elements (namely, Earth) which is also the favorable elements, below are some of my thoughts for your reference :-
- traditionally & theoretically, there is an energy gain whenever there is a clash between the Earth (土越冲越旺);
- the gain in energy not only restricted to the clashes between Chen-Xu & Chou-Wei, it also applies to the punishing clashes between Chen-Chen, Xu-Wei-Chou.
- Based on your queries, the Earth element is favorable to DM, we can naturally assume that the energy gain thru' such the clashes is beneficial to the DM.
- However, when too much of the Earth exist all the same time (for instance, both the LP & AP are the Earth Element), we may have to evaluate it carefully as the Earth may not be the favorable elment at this moment.
Bazi originates from The Book of Changes. Hence, we cannot happily assume that the favorable or unfavorable elements will remain the same forever.

No, according to classical theory, the clashes (between the earth) will only lead to energy gain. That is the Earth would get stronger as a result of the clash.
Hence, there is no issue on the energy loss :)

The energy gain from Earth clashes, are you referring to the HHS (Ding & Xin and Yi & Gui), aside from more Earth (Wu)?

Unfortunately I can't read Chinese, one of the greatest handicap but technology has help ease the pain. Though I need to use several online translators to try to get the most accurate meaning. Even more difficult with the classics.

There are 68 hexagrams in I Ching. Can we use the bazi to determine which hexagram represents the individual?

One of the most important principles of Yi Jing (The Book of Changes) is the Concept of Simplicity.
Your way of viewing the HHS & its impact is too complicated :(
As a simple guide, at this stage, just take it as Earth will gain in strength as a result of clashes between Earth (such as Xu & Chen).
Do not be bothered by such minute details such the impact to HHS :)
