Bazi Daily - 14/01/10

五行要火而缺火的人,都欠缺人生温暖。

Literal Translation & Interpretation :-

When does a fire is most needed in a chart?  It is when the chart is cold that we need fire to warm up the entire chart.

However, when the fire is extremely weak or is lacking in such a chart, the individual might be a pessimist & feel lack of love or warmth toward life.

Hi Master Goh,

I am having trouble with this female chart. Could you help?

丙 丁 乙 己
午 巳 亥 亥

This DM is born out of season. However, it it is sorrounded by amiable and competitive deities so appears strong. Ding born in Hai month needs Fire, Wood, and Yang Earth to thrive.

The pillar 丁 巳 is stars and sun shining at the same time. Bing in hour pillar also tends to blot out the stars (ding).

Would you agree this DM is moderately strong?

How would the Hai-hai self-punishment manifest itself in this chart?

Best,
Sanjay

Sanjay,

This is the bazi chart whereby different people may view it differently easily. It is arguably.

Personally, I would deem it as a balance chart, but slightly weak.

Though I don't normally like to assign weightage to DM, but for ease of understanding, the DM (i.e. fire) scores approximately 46%.

The reason being that she was born in the season of winter. Luckily, it was a noon time.

Just imagine & visualize, thought the weather of the winter's noon is comfortable, but still quite windy.

Furthermore, double Hai water clashes with Si fire.

In her bazi, Hai water represents career & spouse. Beware of the marital disputes with the spouse.

Hi Master Goh,

Thanks for your insights. I'll go with your recommendation of a moderately weak DM.

Her favorable elements would then be: Wood (Jia and Yi), Metal (Geng and Xin), and Earth (Wu). Ji is neutral as Bing could make it hard, however, Ren could also make it muddy.

Clearly Water (Ren and Gui) and Fire (Bing) are unfavorable.

I tend to think that Ding will be favorable to this DM as she is born around Noon time when Bing is shining. This could cover Ding (stars). Therefore, amiable deities could be favorable to this DM while Competitive deities could hurt. It is also interesting to note that her day pillar represents a solid column of Fire. Her Proper Wealth (Geng) is below Bing in Si. Could this mean that her friends literally control her wealth? Or, to put it in another way, she could be involved in a profession where her friends are a source of her wealth? However, this may be unfavorable to her (Bing). She could also work in entertainment industry with so much fire :)

I saw the Si/Hai clash in the spouse palace. I was interpretign the Hai-Hai punishment as self-inflicted pain to her reputation (Proper Authority) and her Proper Resource (perhaps her relationship with her mom is not good). Could it mean something else?

Would you agree? Thanks for suggesting that it is OK to sometimes use numerical weights in guaging DM strength.

Best,
Sanjay

Sanjay,

For the selection of favorable elements, I am holding a different point of view.

I would choose Wood as the favorable element, follow by Earth (dry earth).

By introducing Wood, instead of conquering Ding fire, water would produce Wood & fire indirectly.

I don't think we should use the metal as the favorable element.

Hi Master Goh,

1) Would Metal not be necessary to chop Wood and keep Fire burning in the month of Hai?

2) However, from a 12 life-stage perspective, Hai is the growth stage of Wood so Metal may not be necessary?

3) Metal also represents the Wealth deity. Wealth generates Authority deities (Water, unfavorable) and controls Resource deities (Wood). Wood is favorable and arbitrates between Authority and DM. Therefore, Metal is unfavorable in this scenario!

Are #2 and #3 your reasons for not selecting Metal as a favorable element?

Regards,
Sanjay

Sanjay,

There is only one wood (i.e. the Yi Wood in the month stem) to nourish the energy of fire.

Besides producing fire, Yi wood also acts as a mediating agent to prevent double Hai water to conquer the fire.

However, in the season of winter, the Yi wood is too weak & too 'wet' to produce 'healthy' fire.

Hence, in my view, dry earth is needed to cease (or at least minimize) the hurmful effect of water to this weak, miserable yi wood.

Of course, additional Wood serves to strength the energy of the Yi wood.

Metal, on the other hand, produces more 'cold' water, which is harmful to the wood :)

If we were to view it (more technically) from the perspective of 'Combination', metal is not suitable as :-

- Geng metal is being combined by the Yi & become metal ;

- Xin metal would reduce the energy of fire by comnbing with Bing fire in the hour stem ;

- Shen metal & You metal combine with Si fire in the Day Branch, the energy of fire drop ;

Either way, metal is not necessarily needed by the chart.
