Literal Translation & Interpretation:
I have mentioned in my previous posting on The Principle of Mean. Today, I shall provide more examples pertaining to its applications.
In term of body parts, Ren & Gui water represent urinary bladder & kidney, respectively.
In the event the water is weak & the metal is strong, the DM is likely to contract illnesses that is related to water, such as :-
Necessary Criteria & likely illnesses
1. Weak Ren Water + Strong Metal = urinary bladder stone
2. Weak Gui Water + Strong Metal = kidney stone (also called Nephrolithiasis)
Note to Kidney Stone :
A kidney stone is a solid piece of material that forms in the kidney from substances in the urine. It may be as small as a grain of sand or as large as a pearl. Most kidney stones pass out of the body without help from a doctor. But sometimes a stone will not go away, it may get stuck in the urinary tract, block the flow of urine and cause great pain.

Hi Master Goh,
is it referring to the DM? or is just in general pertaining to a single element in the natal chart?
Because if the single weak gui is located in the year pillar, it can't possibly be referring to kidney?

It can refer to either DM or water element that appear in the natal chart.
The guiding principle is that as long as the water (or any other element) is weak & is being severely attacked, that particular element would get injured & related illness would surface.
If we were to apply the above guided principle to the question that you have raised (i.e. the appearance of weak Gui in the year pillar), it is still possible for a person to have suffered from kidney related illnesses.
However, the chances is even higher if the water appear in the Day & Hour Pillars, as both pillars represent the lower part of an individual body :)
