Bazi Daily - 26/01/2010

学功夫之八字:‘七杀’重多会学功夫,尤其杀为金者。

Literal Translation & Interpretation:

Interestingly, bazi can even tell who are more likely to have interest in learning martial arts.

Yes, you may have already got it right.   It is the presence of strong Imposing Authority Deity in the natal chart.   This is so especially so if the Imposing Authority Deity is metal.

As a guide, individuals with Imposing Authority Deity in his/her chart are normally more adventurous & sporty.  They enjoy challenging sports & activities.

I have a question, are martial arts considered of metal element ?
What about other sports ?

You may consider metal as the element representing marital arts. However, we can raise the accuracy of our deduction by combining it with 10 deities. In this example : Metal + Imposing Authority = Marital Arts.

Water = water related games / sports.

Earth + Wood = Rock combining....

Hi Master Goh,

I have a question in relation to a person's Bazi and martial arts.

To my understanding, a strong Jia Wood person favors imposing authority. Lets say for example, there is no metal imposing authority in the natal chart, but however, the person was involved in martial arts from a young age and was cultivated with it.

If the metal element involved also represented the Useful God, even without the imposing authority in the natal chart, could the involvement in martial arts also make a significant difference, in terms of the person’s destiny and potential?

The reason behind my thinking is that a strong Jia would need elements to control, release or weaken its strength to balance. The metal imposing authority type of action would perhaps help trim the tree so to speak. This trimming represents the discipline, tough training and aggression that comes with martial arts, which I thought could be very useful for a strong Jia. At the same time, I think martial arts could perhaps be related to fire as well in terms of the explosive energy that be created. So in terms of martial arts, discipline (metal) and performance (fire) could benefit a strong Jia.

Is it reasonable to think this way in relation to Bazi?

Best regards,

阿伦

阿伦,

You approach to the subject is definitely logical :)

Based on your description, I would like to paint a few scenarios :-

~ Strong Wood (without fav element of metal)

They are physically strong, aggressive & will not admit defeat easily. They are, however, opiniative & not willing to take constructive advises if the advice is different from his belief.

They are no doubt strong opponent, but without 'brain' (有勇无谋).

~ Strong Wood (with fav element of metal)

They are tough & willing to follow the tough training. If the metal is the Proper Authority (正官), they can be very analytical. If the metal belongs to Imposing Authority (七杀), they are brave & firm.

~ Strong Wood (with fire & metal as fav element)

Besides explosiveness, fire is also known as the Talent Deity. This implies that the person is able to exercise his talent in responding to challenges flexibly & smartly.

All in all, in the study of Chinese Metaphysics, "NOTHING IS CONSTANT EXCEPT CHANGE".

The doctrines & principles only guide us to the understanding of the fundamental concepts. To excel, we have to (base upon the existing doctrines) expand it like what you did :)

Hi Master Goh,

My question is almost like the previous.
I'm a strong fire daymaster, and have metal as a favorable element in my chart, as well as earth, but my chart hasn't any water.
My question is if martial arts would be a good sport for me or would it be dangerous? Because since from what I have read here it is also related to the fire element, and in my chart, fire is an unfavorable element.

Thanks.
