Chen (辰), Xu (戌), Chou (丑) & Wei (未) earths are also known as Grave (墓) stage of 12 Nature Stages of Heavenly Stems.
Grave denotes stagnancy, no movement, static..... Hence, when the natal chart is filled with 'thick' earth (厚土), we can conclude that the DM is calm & steady.
BUT, when the earth becomes overly strong, he/she can be extremely passive.
Earth person may looks calm & steady, but when the fire is too strong (in addition to strong earth), the DM might still looks calm outwardly, but is impatient & impulsive internally.

Hi Master Goh,
I have some confusion on this topic:
1) In these graveyard animals, the Qi of the previous season goes in grave (Mu). For example, in the month of Chou, Metal is in grave (Mu) or stage 9.
However, the table on page 76 of your first book says that Ji is in nurture stage (stage 12) and Wu is in grave (burial, stage 9).
A bit confusing as to how the Yang and Yin components of the same element follow a different cycle. This seems to be counterintuitive.

You are right indeed! It is seems to be counter-intuitive. However, this theory had been passed down for years.
Both the stages for Yin & Yang DM are in reverse directions.
Hi Master Goh,
When Earth clashes, do the elements inside come out? If they do, which one? For example, when Chou is clashed, does Gui come out or Xin?

To be very frank, I do have the same doubt as you. I have came across a number of books mentioning 'something' would be 'coming out', but without further elaboration on what is that 'something'.
Have tried to make further research, but no book has ever mentioned which hidden element(s) would be thrown out.
Some mentioned that the hidden element(s) would get 'injured' as a result of such a clash. I am quite in favor of this school of thought :)

Guess this grab my attention as I am a strong Ji DM because of the Si in my EB. I can be seen as claim from outside, but i am actually very impatient.
Also for the clash, i read the clash got to be between the two EB earth to get the hidden things out. Ex is Chen x Xu (that is what i read lah)
