Combinations & Clashes
Part 05
Part 05
I have covered the 1st condition (i.e. the combining elements have to be adjacent) & shall, now, proceed with the 2nd condition.
2. If the combination involves the Day Master, with or without transformation, the DM will still remain its original nature.
Example :-
戊 癸 X X
Even though the conditions are high enough to warrant the transformation between 戊 (Yang Earth) and 癸 (Yin Water), DM still remain its original identity as Water, not the newly transformed element (i.e. Fire).

In your example, does 戊 transform to Fire? If not, what happens to the Fire Qi (from this transformation)? Is the natal chart configuration altered in any manner?

To be very frank, most of us tend to place much emphasis on the result, i.e. does the transformation take place?
However, we tend to overlook the even more important aspect :- what is the implication of such transformation?
According to the theory, Yang Earth (in this same example) will be transformed & changed its original identity from Earth to Fire. Hence, the configuration of this natal chart do (to certain extent) altered.
But, after satisfying this urge, theoretically. What's next? What conclusion can we draw from such combination?
Want to try?
As a result of the transformation, a “Proper Authority” deity changes to one associated with “Wealth” (Wu becomes Fire). Consequently, some observations could be as follows: (1) If strong, the DM uses his power to acquire more wealth in later life, (2) If female, the DM could meet her spouse in later life,(3) DM becomes more controlling in his/her relationship towards children in later years,(4)If Fire is favorable, DM enjoys a happy old age or, (5) DM becomes more spiritual in later years. Would these observations be correct?
Hi Anonymous 5:37am,
can you please elaborate (5) in your reply? Thanks!!
Who is Anonymous 5:37am?? Would appreciate the readers to, at least, assign a name (or identity) for ease of communicating :-)
As to point #5 above, the Fire element is associated with spirituality and transformation occurs in the Hour Pillar.

Yen,
To me, fire is (in certain way) related to religion & spirituality.
I would say that is one of the possibilities.
Hi Master Goh
Sorry, I am not so clear.
Just copying what transpired above

Hope to receive your comments again. Thank you.

Yen,
Hour Pillar refers to old age :)
BTW, hope that you could spend some times in studying the foundation. If not, it would be difficult to comprehend most of the postings here.
Hi Master Goh
Sure, thank you for your advice.
