Hi, Goh

I got your book 1 and 2. I find your book very informative.

I'll like to ask more of the chart type. I found some book talk about dominant Qi on specific day of the month and this do determine the chart time. Do you see this is also a practice on the advance level?

They do have masters using the abovementioned method in determining the dominant qi of the Month Branch.

But, personally, I do not go to that extent of specifying certain number of days for certain elements in certain months. I am a straightforward person, I, therefore, use straightforward method :-)

BTW, from what I know, there are at least 3 different systems used. Which mean to say, depends on the system you use, the number of days for certain element varies.

Hi Master Goh,
on the same note of practices, some schools advocates time correction. Can you comment on the necessity of this approach?

Thanks

....time correction...necessity?

Personally, I don't make any adjustment or correction to the time of birth. So far, the result of analysis is satisfactory :-)

If you are a beginner & is very keen in mastering the bazi, my advice is do not, at this stage, dwell to much on the finest details.

If focus too much on the technicality aspects (which can be very contradicting from school to school), one may have even more doubts & lead to extremely low confident level.

Hi Master Goh,

Dooes this mean no corrections for issues such as longitude, Equation of Time, Daylight Savings Time (DST), or Norther/Southern Hemisphere?

What is the reason behind your approach vs others that do?

I can't speak on others' behalf why they use or don't use certain approaches or methodologies. This is personal preferences.

By saying that, have you heard of Bazi Gua (八字卦). It is a form of divination like Mei Hua Yi Shu (梅花易数). Bazi Gua or Bazi Divination uses the timing whereby the person seeks for advice. It uses that particlar 'moment' (without any form of correct) to erect the bazi chart. Advice were then given based on that bazi chart. Based on my personal practical experiences, the result is satisfactorily.

There is no right or wrong as to whether to correct or not to correct the timing, longitude...

Don't forget the essence of Yi Jing (易经) - Simplicity :-)

Don't complicate it & don't burden yourself with excessive information.

Select an approach of your preference & take a stance (for instance, to correct or not to correct the timing). Practice it, compile the results, accumulate & learn from your practical experiences &, then, finalize it.

It is only through practice that we learn. Not to learn it by asking without practising it.
