If the HS representing the Star of Kindness is the DM itself - is the Star still considered present in the natal chart?

Does it matter if the star of kindness appear at an unfavourable earthly branch? E.g WU at month branch and bing in hour heaven stem, but earth branch at hour pillar not favourable?

This is indeed a good question that never come to my mind :)
Personally, I do believe that it is considered as present. It is just that the DM (himself or herself) possesses the good qualities as mentioned in the posting.

To add to Orchid's question, would your comment also apply to a women who is born in the month of Shen with Ren as the DM or should it only mean the person is kind?

Is the star valid when the stem is found in the HHS?
As stems are located in certain palaces or represented by certain people (10gods), can it be used to interpret who the chart holding is receiving kindness from or whom are the kind people around the individual? Thank you.

As mentioned, I do believe that it is also apply to the DM.
Also, as mentioned, make it as simple as possible, do not consider the HHS as compound star.
As for your last question, it can be both situation.
