Hi Master Goh,

Let me try this. Definitely it's fire. A bit too cold, given that it's born in late winter, and too many pig, which is wet earth. However, i'm not sure which fire is better. Is it snake or horse?
I also think that having wood is also favourable, because can use to burn into fire (although wet), and some wood can 'open' up the much earth in the chart. Please let me know if this thinking is correct.

Looks like a follower chart with so many outputs. Then she will have to use output as her favourable element and metal as well as water. these are her favourable elements, I think.

Hi Master Goh

Let me try this.

DM Ding fire was born in winter when fire is dead, therefore DM Ding fire is weak. So favourable elements are fire (ding) and wood.

If wrong, please explain why.

Thank you.

PS thank you for your blog, i am learningfrom it.

Dear Master Goh,
dm is very weak, no resources to support, and too much output will drain her. Chart is cold, will extinguish/freeze the light.
Dm needs favourable element fire/ Mao wood to warm the chart, also YIN with Jia wood and Bing fire to assist?
unfav. element is earth.

thanks & best regards,
ren

DM fire is weak as it is wet earth month. Furthermore, exhausted by numerous earth. Noted that there is not even one wood (resource), even in the hidden stems.

Ji earth, to ding fire, is Eating Star. Too many eating stars means the individual may be prone to show off but lacking real skill and knowledge. Outside looks nice, but inside is empty.

Vital in this chart is wood, as it not only reinforce the DM, it also subdues the excess earth.

Person will have better luck in Wood Annual/Luck Pillars.

Direct Resource (Jia Wood) will be useful and vital to build inner knowledge and true strength.

However, Master Goh, issit possible for a person to use a Star that is not present in the chart as a Yong Shen?

born like 8 days ago woh.

This baby girl born in a wet season, wonder which country she is born in.

My 2 cents, this person will need wood as a main useful god, maybe Yang Wood. And will need Yang Fire to dry the wood too.

Well done !

Most of us have correctly identified the favorability of the elements to the DM, ie:-

Wood + Fire = Favorable
Metal + Earth(esply Wet) + Water = Unfavorable

Pertaining to the technical term on the favorable element, Chinese uses 2 distinct terms to distinguish it :-

= 用神 (Yong Shen)
= 喜神 (Xi Shen)

Yong Shen creates more direct impact to the DM, while Xi Shen is less impactful. Technically, Xi Shen supports Yong Shen.

In this instance, this is a cold chart that fire is needed to strengthen the Ding DM as well as to provide necessary 'warm' to the entire chart. The impact is more direct & is known as the Yong Shen.

Wood supports Fire & DM. Hence, Wood is known as the Xi Shen.

Collectively, both the Xi Shen & Yong Shen is known as 喜用神.

But, nowadays, we seldom look into such a minute differences.

Really like Andy's way of describing the chart. He went beyond identifying the favorable elements. Great !

Hi Master Goh

Is the Fire Ding or Bing? I think it should be Ding. With Bing the sunlight fire, it will overshadow the candlelight fire ding.
