If say the spouse star is weak in the female chart, but her luck pillars have supportive elements, be it resource or spouse element, does that help?
e.g.
Say Female DM is Yin Earth, spouse star is Jia, however the spouse star is secondary chi in the spouse palace.
But she is going through water pillar, or wood pillar...does that support the spouse star which is Jia?

Definitely, if the Spouse star is weak and is being supported by the Luck Cycle, the energy of spouse Star is being lifted up.
As for the supporting strength from sub-energy to Spouse Star may not be strong enough if it is really a weak spouse energy.

It is over-simplified to conclude the poor health or early death of spouse.
Spouse Star combines with other deity could be that the husband or boyfriend having 'external romance'....
