Bazi Daily - 24/01/2011

Dear readers & followers,

My sincere apologies for the stoppage of updating the blog daily over the past few days.  I shall resume the posting for todays onwards.

火忌西方酉,金沉怕水伤。
木神休见午,水到卯中伤。

The above required firm understanding of the Theory of 12 Natural Stages of Heavenly Stems.

The Death Stage for Fire, Metal, Wood & Water are You Metal (酉金), Zi Water (子水), Wu Fire (午火) & Mao Wood (卯木) respectively.

How does it work?

For instance, if fire is the favorable element to the weak Fire Person. In the absence of fire in the natal chart, we would (naturally) like to see it during the 10-year or Annual Luck Cycle. However, if the Fire is sitting above the You Metal (that is 丁酉), the supporting energy is insignificant as it is in the Death Stage.

We termed it “自坐死地” in Chinese. That is, the Ding fire is sitting above the Death Stages by itself.

Dear Master,
If hte Day Master is Ding Fire and it sits on You Metal, does the same principle apply? I mean is that pillar in the Bazi in the Death Stage?
Thanks

Liew,

If the DM is born in the month of summer where the Ding Fire is being supported, it doesn't matter if the Ding DM is sitting on You metal or not :)

However, if the Ding DM is born in the month of Winter, the energy of Ding DM is further weakened when the You metal is directly underneath the DM.

The critical factor to consider is the Month OF Birth.

Dear Master Goh

In this instance, Ren (month) and Gui (year) and Mao is month of birth. ie water is sitting above the Mao. What negative impact does the Mao on the water element and if the water element is wealth.

Thanks and regards
Lilian

Lilian,

I re-constructed your question into the following chart for the ease of understanding & explaining :-

X Earth Ren Gui
X X Mao X

where water is the Wealth Deity.

Assuming that there is no other water element in the natal chart, I would say that the Water (& therefore the Wealth) is weak.

Since both the Wealth Deities appear in the HS, it may signify that the DM look wealthy outwardly, but may not be so in reality :)

Dear Master Goh

This is a female chart

X Wu Gui Ren
X Chen Mao Chen

Water (Gui)is the sub energy in the Chen.

1. Can the water considered rooted ?

2. When can the hidden pot be "cracked open"

2. With the coming year (Mao)will the water be further weakened ?

Thanks and regards
Lilian

Dear Master Goh

Perhaps I should add on the LP
(Ding You.) because from the technical side, You combined with Chen and clashed with Mao.
Should I use this combination and clashes to analysis the chart too?

Thank again.

Regards
Lilian

Lilian,

First of all I have to confess (AGAIN) that I do not have any idea on when & how the hidden HS can be 'cracked open' (冲开/冲出).

We have all heard it from others or read somewhere mentioning it. BUT, up to date, I have yet to find a more complete description & explanation on it.

Do let me know if you find one.

Lilian,

As for your question on whether the hidden water (Gui) in the Chen Earth can be considered as a 'connection' to both the water that appear in the HS, I would say YES.

However, I would also like to add that the connection and, hence, the supporting energy is weak. This is even so in the month of Mao where the water is at its weakest.

Based on this understanding, the coming year of Mao can weaken the water further.

Master Goh

I would like find out - is mao the death stage for water element regardless of whether it is ren or gui water? All along I thought the death stage for gui water is shen. Thank you.

Golden,

There are 2 school of thoughts pertaining to establishing 12 Life Stages of HS. One base upon the yin & yang of HS in establishing the stages.

Other, which I subscribe to, disregards the yin & yang of HS in establishin all the 12 stages. Which mean to say Hai Water is the Growth Stage for Jia & Yi wood.

Master Goh

Thank you for your explanation. In your personal view which one do you prefer to rely on?

Golden,

As mentioned, I don't rely on the YIn & Yang of HS in establishing the stages.
