Yin & Yang of Stems / Branches

Yin & Yang is the central theme for the study of Chinese Metaphysics.

In term of the structure, all the STEMS (ie Year, Month , Day & Hour Stem) are comparable to the YANG.   Naturally, all the EARTHLY BRANCHES represent the YIN (the hidden or less obvious).

Clashes with Stems & Branches give rise to different interpretation & deductions.

Use your imagination and share with us your thought.

Dear Master Goh,

Clashes with Stems are less problematic as compared with clashes with branches.

Stems - On top. Surface. External perception of a person.

Branches - Root. Foundation of the pillars. Need to have good foundation otherwise the pillars will not be stable.

Well, any clash with the stem will be obvious and easily seen by people. Since it is on the surface, it may not be as serious.

For any clash with the branch, it will be less obvious but will be destructive. Any clashes here will destroy the stability of the root.

Kenz

Kenz,

Agreed :)

Though clashes destroy the stability of the root, it does not necessarily to be bad :)

If the affected EB is unfavorable, it is, in fact, better.
