- Proper authority chart style (正官格)
- Imposing authority chart style (七杀格)
- Primary resources chart style (正印格)
- Secondary resources chart style (偏印格)

Morning Master Goh,
Since are are at chart pattern, how do we know which one to use if sometime they are two obvious element and both in the hidden steam and Heaven Stem. like for my case, the Primary Resources and Explicit Talent Element are in the HHS and HS.

May I know why do we need to establish the chart pattern? I am a bit confuse because by establishing the chart pattern the focal point of the birth chart reading seems to shift from the daymaster to the chart pattern. Can you please clarify? Thanks.

In the following postings, I shall demonstrate how to establish the Chart Pattern.
As for your bazi, there is a formation (or chart pattern) known as 伤官配印格 (The Formation of Primary Resource controlling Explicit Talent).
Tee,
As mentioned in the beginning of the posting (on this subject), the Chart Pattern represents the "Prominent Feature" of the entire bazi chart. By identifying it, one should be able to grasp and analyse with ease.
However, I do agree with you that the focal point of the analysis would shift if the foundation is weak.
Nevertheless, the study of Chart Patterns is considered as one of the major topics in bazi :)
