Bazi & TCM

So far, we have talked much about the Theory of TCM and its relations to the Theory of Bazi.  I do not know how receptive you are to the said subject :)    Afterall, it sounds boring & the subject is, indeed, quite dull & dry for those who don't appreciate the beauty of it.

Personally, I enjoy my reading on the subject.  In actual fact, I have acquired more books on this subject.   I  would like to spend more time on it (thru' the blog) and try, as far as possible, to relate it to the subject of bazi.

Hope that you can join me (& my joy) in this journey of learning !!

Hi Master Goh,

Thank you for blogging about Bazi and TCM. Most interesting.

Have you come across cases where an ailment suddenly cured itself with the entrance of the needed element? I have known of a friend whose tumor shrinks at appearance of wood element in 2010. Tumour raged at Earth year 2009....

Hi Master Goh,

Any truth in the saying "abundant of wealth will result in bad health"? Health here refers to DM element or resource?

Guan Leong, GOH said...

LadyGaga,

Theoretically, it is true that 'abundant of wealth will result in bad health' (财多身弱).

It is also true that one ailment (especially the severe one) may lead to the other ailment. Hence, both the elements represented by DM & Wealth Deities could be the potential victims.

I do have student that suffered from Kidney Stone. But, with the presence of water during the luck cycle & annual luck cycle, he recovered automatically. No operation, no medication....

Would appreciate if you could share with us on the bazi of the person you have mentioned :)

Hi Master Goh,

Here's the chart:

Gui Jia Ji Yi
You Shen Mao Si

I thought Jia DM is strong and Ji is favourable...How do we read the tumour make an appearance then shrinks? Theoretically, do you think it will completely disappear in 2011?

In terms of health, what ailment must this DM be wary of?

Guan Leong, GOH said...

LadyGaga,

Though the DM is strong, BUT it is SHAKY.

Why?? There are 2 metal attacking the wood.

With the presence of strong wood & metal, the only Ji Earth in the Month Stem suffers.

The year of Ji Chou (2009) formed Tri-combination of Si-You-Chou. Resulted in the serious injury to the Mao wood & Ji Earth.

Once the Ji Chou annual cycle passed, it restored back to the original state.

In general, I would view that the Ji Earth is the WEAKEST LINK in this chart which happened to be the Wealth Deity. Hence, take good care of stomach, spleen & digestive system.

Next, there is a strong presence of both the metal & wood. Both are in opposing relationship. Do not neglect the health issues related to these 2 elements.

Hi Master Goh,
just curious..
is the above chart = 财多身弱?
I see its 财 is very weak.

Btw, enjoy this topic(TCM-bazi)very much! Thank you! Very relevant & important to everyone.

Guan Leong, GOH said...

Casio,

No, this is not a 财多身弱 chart!

Wealth Deity can also be viewed as the HEALTH. Hence, too much or too little is undesirable and may affect the health.

Hi Master Goh,

Interesting case:

癸甲己乙
酉申卯巳

But I do not understand. Are you sugggesting ailment is due to earth being extremely weak? Can't Si and Shen which also contained Yang Earth help Ji earth? There can't be deficiency of Earth in Ji Chou year...

As for metal attacking wood, I noticed there is Gui. Can't Gui help as a bridging element between metal and wood? In Jia Shen year, can we say DM is very weak and needed elements suitable for weak DM?

Hi Master Goh,

癸甲己乙
酉申卯巳

Is it possible for Branch Shen to attack Stem Jia in Natal Chart?

Also there is a fan yin of Jia Shen with Geng Yin 2010. How can health improve this year? Can there be an accident or emotional health issue i.e. relationship issue?

Batman,

First of all, I would like to point out that you have overlooked the importance of Month Branch - ie Mao wood in this instance.

Month Branch represents the month and, therefore, the season. Just imagine the temperature during the Summer & during the Winter. In the Summer season where the weather is hot & warm, water is in urgent need & is in hot demand.

Similarly, according to the theory of 12 Natural Life Cycle of HS (十二长生历程), water is at it weakest. In chinese, we use the term as follow : 水到卯中伤.

Water in this instance is being sucked by the season where the wood is born in season.

Next, the earth that you have mentioned are the HHS where the energy is in nowhere compared to the main energy. Yes, hidden earth does help, but it is insignificant to create the required support.

Also, the trio-combo among 巳-酉-丑 'took away' the energy of Chou & earth that is contained within the Si fire.

NOTE : I have lost my glasses today, forgive me should there be any typing errors :(

Sean,

Yes, Shen in the branch can attack Jia :)

In the absence of meditating element (ie water), the fight between wood & metal is direct.

Yes, as you have mentioned, it could lead to one of the followings :-

- accident (metal represents car & engine) = hence avoid speeding during this period of time.

- emotional health issue = wood represents anger. He / she can get angry easily. This may lead to the fluctuation in emotion that, ultimately, lead to accident (mentioned above) & relationship issue :(

Master Goh,

Wow, very exciting discussion!!!

It is most interesting that you agree that Shen can attack Jia (EB vs HS). In this case Jia will be weak! But you mentioned this Jia is strong DM?

Assuming DM is strong, there should be no worries about being controlled by Geng, right? Is water really needed then?

When Yi You year comes in, Mao will be clashed away. Jia DM will be without root! Can a strong DM turn weak on certain year? In this instance, what health issues can occur?

Only when wood is clashed anger arise, right? In another word, by itself, will wood still manifest anger?

No, given that Shen metal attacks Jia wood doesn't mean that the Jia would be weak :)

Don't forget that Jia wood born in the season where Wood prospers. Or put it more appropriately & in better perspective, Wood is moderately strong.

Of course, strong wood can withstand the 'attacking forces'. But, during the process, Wood still suffer as a result. Don't forget that the chart belongs to the DM and, now, TWO opposing forces is fighting with each other. Who will suffer? DM :)

There are various types & ways of looking for favorable elements.

1. When the DM is weak, supporting element(s) would be the fav element (FE in short) ;

2. When the DM is strong, controlling element(s) would be the FE ;

3. When there is existence of 2 opposing elements (with equal strength) in the natal chart, the mediating element (Gui water in this instance) would be the FE.

Given the right condition, it is possible for a strong (or weak) DM to turn weak (or strong) on certain year.

As long as the 2 opposing forces (metal & wood) continue to fight, the health issues will still exist. It is just that when the DM is strong, the ailment is not obvious & readily surface.

Given the continual clashing relationship between metal and wood, wood will still manifest anger.

Master Goh,

Thank you so much for your detailed explanations. I like the way you analyse and your logic! I think, first thing tomorrow I will just go pick up your books at the nearest bookshop! I heard from friends, your books are very good! Now I know what they mean! You are good!

Hi Master Goh,

I was told, your books are excellent guides in learning bazi. Can't wait for my bookshop to call me to pick them up soon.(They have already placed my order with their supplier.) Thank you for writing these books!

Very good discussion going! Always good to have a case study to bring theories to live. Learnt alot :)

So, FEs for this strong Jia DM are water and metal. What about fire and earth? Fire can exhaust the Chi of wood. If earth is weak, shouldn't earth also be favourable (if earth is not being controlled by wood)?

Thanks in advance!
