Interdependence between yin and yang (阴阳互根)

Interdependence between yin and yang, literarily yin and yang rooting in each other, indicates that yin and yang depend on each other for existence in an object. In conception, yin and yang must exist in pair and no side can exist solitarily.

Yin & Yang depend on each other for existence

In nature, yin and yang within an object can transform into each other under certain condition, implying that no one can exist without the existence of the other.

Notes :

In bazi, sole existence of strong Fire is damaging.  Water or Wet Earth is, definitely, needed to maintain the Equilibrium State.

Paul showed his concerns on one of the postings :

" I`m particularly curious about health for special charts, as the stronger element is favourable, yet from a health point of view,it shouldn`t be." or Too weak.  In most simplest form, the EQUILIBRIUM does not exist in the Special Chart.   It is either too strong (& therefore too yang) or too weak (& therefore too yin).

Special Chart occurred where the DM is either TOO STRONG

It can be good in certain aspects (such as fame & wealth), but it is definitely not good for the HEALTH.    Why?  Below is self-explanatory :-

That is why it is said in the theory of TCM that "solitary yang cannot exist" and "solitary yin cannot grow" (孤阴不生,独阳不长).

In the light of interdependence between yin and yang, TCM pays much attention to mutual transformation between qi and blood (气血) as well as yin and yang in the treatment of diseases due to deficiency of qi and blood as well as of yin and yang.

For example,

-  the patients with blood deficiency can be treated by supplementing qi to produce blood;
-  the patients with qi deficiency can be treated by supplementing blood to promote qi;
-  the patients with yin deficiency can be treated by supplementing yang to generate yin ;
-  the patients with yang deficiency can be treated by supplementing yin to promote yang.

One must work and dare if one really wants to live.

Hi Master,

I have received feedback that my bazi might be a follower chart. Can you help me see what kind of follower chart is this?

My bazi looks like this:

Ding Ji Ren Ding
Mao Hai Yin Mao

Of the above, I have 4 wood, 2 water, 3 fire and 2 earth, 0 Metal.

My hidden stems are:
Hour pillar: Yi
Day pillar: Ren and Jia
Month pillar:Wu, Jia, Bing
Year pillar: Yi

Thanks! =)

From your understanding, what is the definition for Follower Chart?

Mm.. Not sure if this is correct but a Follower chart is one where the DM is weak without any support of resource, indirect resource, friends or additional structure.

However, mine has direct resource, so does not exactly fit the bill of a follower chart.

But I have recevied feedback that the Yin Hai in my bazi transform to wood making the EB all wood. Ding and Ren also transform to wood.
The only one left is the Ding in the time pillar. which is also the resource.
The resource is rooted in the month EB. As such, even though the JI earth is rooted in the month EB, due to strength of the wood, the chart is considered as follow wood.

Yin being a softer nature, would follow more readily, and as wood is strong in this bazi, I'm a follower for wood?

My apologies if all the above sounds like nonsense to you. I've just started learning bazi and maybe all these are too advanced for a novice like me to interpret.

With the presnce of Ding fire in the hour pillar, I personally would not classify it us special chart.

As usual, my advice to keen beginners is that do not focus too much on the Chart Formation :)

thank you for your reply! I really appreciate it :)

So in the chart below the Earth is harmful to fire and water organs as well and earth ones, even if the person is a follow earth type?
ding ding xin xin
wei wei chou chou
9 jan 1962 wei hour 13.00-14.59

thanks
Paul

Yes!

Chart Type only describe the characteristics of a give bazi chart.

Despite the chart types, any elements that is too strong, too weak, or subject to severe attack are prone to suffer from related illnesses.

some people say that chart is a fake follow as there is no wood to control earth but having no earth in stem it can only be fake follow. What is your opinion?

thanks
paul

Paul,

I am a simple person. To me, it is EITHER normal chart type or special chart type.

I seldom classify the chart as 'Fake' :)

Which one do you think and why?
Thanks a lot
Paul

Paul,

丁 丁 辛 辛

Of course, if we were to follow the theory of Fake Follow Chart, this chart does fulfil the requirements.

But, personally, I would still deem it as a Weak Ding fire chart. The reason is simply that there a Ding fire in the hour stem to support the DM.

How can the abovementioned chart be follower, it is weak chart. Ding is strongly rooted in Wei. At least for follower u can't have DM roots.

ericka, one of the roots is clashed and earth clashes end up in more earth
some people claim that for follow child it is enough not to have resource, or to be untimely.
but to me it makes no difference, i ave an uncontrolled impatient personality,i can only do what i want
