During the process of examining / studying the chart, there are at least NINE (9) possible outcomes :-

1.   The DM is EXTREMELY STRONG (Special Category); or
2.   The DM is VERY Strong ; or
3.   The DM is Strong ; or
4.   The DM is Balance ; or
5.   The DM is Weak ; or
6.   The DM is VERY Weak ; or
7.   The DM is EXTREMELY WEAK (Special Category) ; or

The Principle of Moderation (Balance)  vs  The Principle of Extremity

You may ask, or even doubt, the contradictory of the above-mentioned TWO (2) principles.

Yes, you are right!

BUT, not forgetting that Yi - Jing (易经) means THE BOOK OF CHANGES.

Nothing is Constant, Nothing is ABSOLUTE!

Men do less than they ought, unless they do all they can.

The Principle of Extremity

We mentioned the importance of maintaining BALANCE (ie the Principle of Moderation) in the study of Chinese Metaphysics.  However, in the event, where :-

-  the DM is OVERLY STRONG ; or
-  the DM is OVERLY WEAK ; or
-  the Chart is OVERLY COLD ; or
-  the Chart is OVERLY HOT,

We have to FOLLOW THE MAJORITY.

No great man ever complains of want of opportunities.

One of the central themes of Chinese Metaphysics is :

The Principle of Moderation

That means to say :-

-  Not too Strong
-  Not too Weak
-  Not too Cold
-  Not too Hot

Do we not all agree to call rapid thought and noble impulse

by the name of inspiration?

The presence of both the Proper Authority Deity & Explicit Talent Deity simultaneously in a female chart may contribute to unblissful marriages.   This is especially so if the Explicit Talent Deity is unfavorable to the chart.

Life has no smooth road for any of us;

and in the bracing atmosphere of a high aim the very roughness

stimulates the climber to steadier steps, till the legend,

over steep ways to the stars, fulfills itself.

W. C. Doane
