Bazi Daily - 31/01/2010

年、月支有伏吟,且年、月支本气是偏印的,爷爷是双胞胎或二婚之人。

Literal Translation & Interpretation:-

I have mentioned in my previous posting on how to deduce whether our grandmother is a twin or re-married.

Today, we shall continue to use the same set of guidelines in investigating the other family member - grandfather.

Below are exactly the same set of guidelines with the exception that the deity involved is now become Resource Deity :-

- There is a 'repetition' (伏吟) of branches in Year & Month Branch ;
   (Year & Month Branch represents Grandparents & Parents)

- Resource Deity is being repeated in both the Year & Month Branch.
   (Resource Deity represents Grandfather)

Example:-

X    DM    X    X
X     X     RD   RD

年、月支有伏吟,且年、月支本气是伤官,表示奶奶是双胞胎或二婚之人。

Literal Translation & Interpretation:-

It is amazing & incredible that we can even tell whether our grandmother is a twin or re-married.

Below are some of the contributing factors from the perspective of bazi :-

- There is a 'repetition' (伏吟) of branches in Year & Month Branch ;
   (Year & Month Branch represents Grandparents & Parents)

- Explicit Talent is being repeated in both the Year & Month Branch.
  (Explicit Talent represents Grandmother)

Example:-

X    DM    X     X
X      X     ET   ET

Word of Caution :   The above is merely a guideline to look into the 'POSSIBILITY'.

月支为兄弟宮,月支被沖,兄弟刑克少缘;月令官杀兄弟少。

Literal Translation & Interpretation:-

Month Branch represents Siblings Palace.  The clashes to Month Branch denote the relationship might not be in good term.

We all know that Authority Deity conquers Amiable & Competitive Deity.  The word 'Conquer' connotes reducing the energy of Amiable & Competitive Deity as a result of such clashes by Authority Deity.

Since Amiable Deity & Competitive Deity represents siblings, one of the possible deductions is that the DM may only have a few siblings.   This is especially so if the Authority Deity is situated in the Month Branch.

父母不合八字标志

八字印星与财星贴近相克相冲中间无通关,主父母感情不好,老吵架,离婚。

Literal Translation & Interpretation:

According to the theory of 10 Deities, Resource Deity represents mother & Wealth Deity represents father.  And according to the theory of controlling relationship, Wealth Deity conquers Resource Deity.  Such a relationship provide us with an useful insight in ascertaining the marital relationship of our parents.

In the event where both the Resource Deity & Wealth Deity are adjacent to each other, we can conclude that the relationship between the parents is poor.   In worst situation, they may even divorce.

Example :-

X    DM      Wealth       Resource
X      X             X               X

小孩八字不见印星,幼年之期,父母会疏忽照顾。

Literal Translation & Interpretation :-

Generally speaking, Resource Deities represents parents.   In the event, there is no presence of Resource Deities in the natal chart, below possible deductions could be made and is hold true :-

-  the love given by the parents to the DM is limited ;
-  there is a generation gap ;
-  the DM is being taken care by the grandparents or baby sitter, etc.

用神在月柱,表示兄弟有情义。若遇冲克,反目成仇。

Literal Translation & Interpretation:-

Month Pillar represents Sibling Palace. Hence, if the element is favorable to DM, we can conclude that the bonding between the sibling & the DM is strong.

However, if there is a clash to such favorable element in the month pillar, they may become enemies.

Personally, I don't think such a clash would lead to such a stage - becoming enemies :) It would, however, only affect their bonding unfavorably. Afterall, the faovrable element is residing within the Sibling Palace (i.e. Month Pillar).

Food for Thought :

Besides representing Sibling Palace, Month Pillar also represents Parent Palace. Does the same principle and concept still hold ?

时柱偏财为喜,身旺儿孙福自然来。

Literal Translation & Interpretation:-

Bazi analysis is also capable of foretelling the 'quality' of our offspring such as their achievement, are they filial piety....

According to the above phrase, one is able to enjoy the economics wealth created by his/her offspring. The phrase, then, continues to list out the qualifying conditions:-

1. DM have to be strong ;
2. Secondary Wealth Deity is favorable to the DM ;
3. Secondary Wealth Deity is found at the Hour Pillar.

女命八字内有食神、伤官克制官杀者,疼爱子女,冷落丈夫。

Literal translation & interpretation :-Both Implicit & Explicit Talents are in clashing relationship with Proper & Imposing Authority. For a female chart, Talent Deity represents Offspring, whilst Authority Deity represents husband.

In the event whereby both the Talent & Authority Deities co-exists in the female chart, one of the possible deductions is that the DM shows more love & concern to her children then to her husband.

月柱为兄弟宫,月支被冲则表示与兄弟(包括姐妹)的关系不佳。

Literal Translation & Elaboration:

Siblings can be represented by the Month Pillar. The destructive & controlling relationship between the month pillar & the other pillars (namely the Year &/or Day Pillar) connotes the relationship with the siblings.

In the event of the clashes with the month pillar, the relationship with the siblings may be poor.

Since the month pillar also represents the parents, the same principle can also be applied when ascertaining the relationship with parents.

Decoding the relationship between the DM and the Parents

Generally speaking, the relationship between the kids & the parents can be described as good, poor or neutral.

Today, I am going to share with you on how to decode this different layer of relationships.

Since the main concern now is on decoding the relationship with the parents, we have to FOCUS our analysis on the favorability of the Resources Deity (representing mother) or Wealth Deity (representing father).

Below serve as a quick guide for your analysis:-

If the deity concerned is favorable = the relationship is good

If the deity concerned is unfavorable = the relationship is poor

If the deity concerned is neutral = the relationship is neutral

For instance, the Resources Deity is most needed when the DM is weak. Hence, we can conclude that the relationship with the mother is close & good.

X 甲 癸 X

X X X X

Food for thoughts:-

Below is also an instance whereby the Resource Deity is favorable to DM. However, the position of Yin Water (i.e. the Resources Deity) is located elsewhere:-

X 甲 X X

X X X 癸

Can you detect any differences in term of the relationship?

Kinship & Relationship with Family Members
(Part 03)

I have listed the full representation of 10 deities to different family members. It is normally referred to as the 'star' (星).

Other than the star, the other equally important aspect that we need to consider or evaluate is the status of 'Palaces' (宫). Technically, in Chinese, the term is referred to as 星宫同参 (read & pronounce as Xing Gong Tong Can in Chinese), meaning we have to consider (or take reference) both the Star & the Palace.

Below are the Four Pillars & Family Relationships

Year Pillar Palace of Grandparents / Parents (祖父母宫/父母宫)

Month Pillar Palace of Parents / Siblings (父母宫/兄弟宫)

Day Pillar Palace of Spouse (夫妻宫)

Hour Pillar Palace of Children (子息宫)

In the coming postings (on the subject of Kinship), I shall elaborate further details on how to integrate both the star & the palace.

Bazi Daily - 16/11/2009

天干比劫为忌时,表示同事、朋友关系不好。地支比劫为忌时,表示兄弟不和。

Literal Translation & Interpretation:-

We know that Amiable & Competitive Deity (比肩、劫财) can be used to represent sibling, colleagues, school mates, course mates, cousin, associates, friends......

When it is favourable to DM, all the above mentioned personnel can be helpful to the DM. However, when it is unfavourable to DM, the reverse is also true. In this situation, it can be deemed as competitors, scheming individuals.....

We may then ask, since there are so many different representations, how can we know (confidently & accurately) which individual it is referred to in term of, say, relationship with DM.

When the Amiable &/or Competitive Deity is unfavourable & is appeared in the Heavenly Stems, it connotes poor relationship. Since Heavenly Stem represents outer (as compared to Earthly branch that denotes inner), the parties involved in such situation could be individuals that is not part of the family members, such as friends, colleagues and the likes.

When the Amiable &/or Competitive Deity is unfavourable & is appeared in the Earthly Branches, it also connotes poor relationship. But, in this instance, it refers to family members (i.e. inner) such as sibling or cousin. It could also refers to close or intimate friends.

Once again, the concept of Yin & Yang applies

.... intimacy & remote

Your Family Tie....

论六亲关系的分离、聚合,必须‘同时’观察十神所代表的六亲和宫位。

若星、宫同时动摇,则有离象(何谓动摇?冲、刑、害皆为动摇)

若星宫同时会合,则有聚象(何谓会合?干合、支合皆为会合)

Literal Translation:-

Bazi can be used as an effective tool to decipher the relationship between the DM and his/her family members. We can tell whether their relationship are close, intimate or not in harmony.

In order to do so, we need to observe & evaluate, simultaneously, the deities & palaces that represent respective family members.

When both the Deity (for example Wealth Deity - represents father) & the Palace (i.e. Month Stem - also represents father) are being clashed at the same times, the relationship is considered to be shaky.

However, when both the Deity (for example Wealth Deity - represents father) & the Palace (i.e. Month Stem - also represents father) are being combined at the same times, does the reverse apply?

I don't think so, though the author of the book had pointed out the existent of intimacy relationship due to such double layer of combinations.

My reason is simple : any form of 'combination' (be it deities or palaces) may lead to the change of identity.

What if the Wealth Deity is being 'combined away' (合去) & become some other element (or deity)? This has the implication that the relationship would change from father and son to some other relationship...

Note :

The above was extracted from a book that I have read quite sometimes back. During the process of translation, I have made some slight moderation on the portion that I don't quite agreed with. Use your own discretion to choose the one that you deem appropriate & comfortable.
